Located 15 miles south of Bozeman in Gallatin Canyon up the Squaw Creek drainage. Watch for traffic on open roads. Ride in control on the Line Creek Road descent—there are sharp turns with sheer dropoffs. Also steep dropoffs to the right (west) of trail above Pioneer Lakes. Highlights: Rat Lake; aerial views of Pioneer Lakes; sections of fun, ATV-width trail. Tread: 6.5 miles on open logging roads; 4.4 miles on closed logging road; 2.7 miles on ATV doubletrack.
