Located 14 miles south of Bozeman at the north end of the Gallatin Range. Highlights: West Shore Trail is ugly (lots of logging debris) but fun, a good test piece for novice and intermediate riders; views of Hyalite Reservoir; spectacular views of the peaks along the West Fork of Hyalite Creek. Tread: 3.6 miles on gravel roads; 2.6 miles on singletrack.

First trail ride ever. It kicked my ass..I scraped up my arm real good and bent my rear wheel (near the end of the loop thank god) but it was a blast. I'm getting a better mountain bike.
