Elm Creek is a gorgeous park, and its bike trails are perfect for new riders. The best time to go is for an early morning cruise through the woods and near the lake. The land and water habitats bring out an abundance of wildlife, and a slow ride through the wetland area of Mud Lake will take you close to herons, ducks, geese, deer, and more.
The mountain bike mileage here is wonderful, except for a short stretch of really bumpy trail in taller grass on the north end of the park. If you want to skip the ugly stuff, there are miles of easy paved path to bail out on. Tread: 1 mile paved trail; 4 miles dirt and grass single and doubletrack.
