Here’s another short loop that is so much fun, most people just keep doing laps. There’s enough of a climb in loose gravel at the start to warm you up, then an exhilarating descent. Less than a mile into the ride the trail turns into gorgeous hard-packed singletrack that winds around in the woods. Treat yourself to this ride especially in the fall. A tough expert section is also available if you’re up for it. The climbs are steep enough to test your mettle, and several screaming descents balance it out. Before you know it, you’re back at the trailhead and too revved up to stop. Multiple trips are the order for this trail. The dedicated efforts of the folks at Minnesota Off-Road Cyclists have made this trail a new favorite in the metro area. New singletrack—5 miles of it!—is being built and will be available by the time you read this. Don’t miss it. Tread: Entire loop is mix of gravel and dirt singletrack.
