Louisville is a nice trail that brings you close to a rare woodland area, a historic homestead, and right along the banks of the Minnesota River. The first half of the ride is on wide gravel trail that is usually in good condition. The hiking trails look inviting, but that’s what they’re for, so stay your course. God help you if you linger too long in this section; the mosquitoes are not of this Earth. Only your bike will remain. After looping around to the river, the trail becomes a bit more primitive but still very rideable. You’re bound to encounter horse tracks here that will rattle your bones. The State Corridor Trail offers even more mileage if you so desire. Tread: Hard-packed gravel, grass, and dirt doubletrack.

Bugs! Bring your repellant. Only saw two people on the trail on the weekend. Can be tough going in the taller grass. Nice views along the river. Mostly flat riding.
