I thought this was kind of a fun ride for folks who have traveled this part of the valley for many years. The trailhead sits at a location that was a major river crossing point for a bazillion cars heading to and from work each day. The river would rise and flood the road almost every spring, forcing the hordes to find another way across, and the valley would plunge into silence. With all the cars on the big bridge now, the road has been transformed into a bike/pedestrian path. The short trail for this ride used to be a footpath for fishing (and partying) crowds to access the river, then it was made wider and reverberated with heavy equipment during bridge construction. Now it’s a nice little trail that takes you underneath the new bridge and wanders through some funky wooded areas on the other side. I sometimes use it as a warm-up ride before taking off on the Ferry Trail. Tread: Mix of gravel and dirt singletrack.
