It is worth pointing out that we only barely started the trail. That said, it was pretty country. Whether through our own naivette or through mischaracterization, this is not really a rail trail. Less than .5 miles in, it transitions from mountain-road to root-hopping in the rhododendrons. Hiking would be great; not so much with the young biker and the other inexperienced bikers (incl myself) that were looking for a wide, flat surface. Thus, this is just informative, not a real rating of our experience on the (pretty) trail.
