The towns of Plymouth and Carver, 45 miles south of Boston. Overall, the terrain is flat, but with many short climbs and descents. Although the trails and roads in this forest are distinct, they are also plentiful and often resemble each other. Carrying a map and compass is a good idea. Also, bring plenty of water on a longer ride, especially during the summer. You can ride in this area year-round. The sandy trails are well drained in the spring, and there is usually little snow in the winter. Although summer can be hot, you can cool off at the beaches. The forest has several hundred campsites, open from mid-April to mid-October, with showers (no reservations necessary).
