Chippewa Hills Pathway is popular with locals, and it is easy to see why. By far one of the best cross-country ski trails open to mountain biking in northeastern Michigan, it follows a roller-coaster route through cedar swamp and dense trees. For the most part it is high and dry and, best of all, mostly singletrack. The path, like most other Michigan cross-country pathways, is amply marked and relatively hazard-free, except for a few sandy patches. Tread: 6.6 miles of singletrack.
