Cruising past inland lakes and creeks, these two tree-lined loops offer riders a rollicking good time. Rocky descents, sand traps, and a few steep hills keep you alert, but for the most part these two cruisers promise a fast forest ride. The 4,600-acre park is a pristine escape from the greater Detroit bustle, although the gun noise from a nearby shooting range occasionally interrupts the pastoral image. Tread: 7.5 miles of singletrack, 0.2 mile of doubletrack (North Loop); 3.8 miles of singletrack, 0.2 mile of doubletrack (South Loop).

I recently road this area, The South area was a little short and rocky . Glad I had GPS.Wear yellow in the fall, because I saw 3 hunters. Try a day when the range is not shooting , to noisy. Very pretty in the fall. The North area was a little scary for me. In the Blue and White loops there was 3 posts broken in a row. The woods were to heavy for my GPS, It might work without leaves.. Stay on the main path and get the map. Very pretty in the fall.

Awesome trails, well marked and easy to navigate. I showed up and the attendant at the main office took time to get me my parking pass, indicate where I should park and what trails to go on - VERY helpful. The difficulty level is low, easy for even beginners to do with few steep inclines, some exposed roots but nothing extraordinary. The trails are in thick forest (during summer months) and get their fair number of mosquitoes. I recommend these trails for their relative closeness to the major SE Michigan cities, good maintenance and nice staff.
