New Glarus is a wonderfully hospitable town with a strong Swiss heritage. Marsh and dairy farm scenery and pleasant trail towns are found along the trail. Surface: The first 0.3 mile south from New Glarus is asphalt, the rest is crushed limestone with wood-planked bridges. A 1.7-mile asphalt spur trail runs south along WI 69 to New Glarus Woods State Park.
