If you were driving on Highway 91 on your way to somewhere else, you'd pass Chandler and possibly not even remember seeing evidence of a town. This small village of a couple of hundred people barely registers as a dot on most maps. What most drivers don't see as they zip by is the serene Chanarambie Valley, which extends south of town. It's unlikely that most people will drive a long distance to ride this loop. But if you're passing through the area on I-90 or visiting a nearby town, this ride is worth the stop. Surrounded by all sides by large rolling fields of corn and soybeans, the gently sloped valley sides reminded me of a landscape from the West. Short prairie grass and the few cottonwoods scattered about help form a landscape that would fit perfectly in Montana. Instead, this small chunk of the high plains somehow ended up in the middle of southern Minnesota, hundreds of miles from where it should be.
