Lake country begins in the northern third of Minnesota. Although the southern and central parts of the state have their share, the North has a monopoly on the number of lakes. Besides being a popular destination, Lake Osakis is called the Mother Walleye Lake. Each year the state catches and harvests eggs from walleye (the Minnesota state fish) and uses them to stock thirty other lakes. After harvesting, the state returns the fish to the lake, hence the name. Most of this loop isn't suitable for children, unless they're riding a tandem with an adult.
