This ride pays homage to the Hoard heritage, as the road passes through some of the picturesque farmland that made this region famous. Not as hilly as the country to the north and east, there are still a few climbs that will have you dropping into your lowest gears. As you leave the parking lot of the City Park, turn right onto Janesville Avenue for 1 block, passing the ball field; then turn right onto Sixth Street. Go 2 blocks, stop at and cross Grove Street, go 2 more blocks to cross Grant Street, and then go1 block to a right turn onto South Main Street at five-tenths of a mile (all through a quiet residential neighborhood). Things to see: Towns of Fort Atkinson and Cold Spring, Hoard Historical Museum and Dairy Shrine, Fireside Restaurant and Playhouse, Glacial Lake Trail, Lake Koshkonong, Rock and Bark Rivers.
