To outsiders Milwaukee has a not-unfounded blue-collar reputation as a city of bratwurst, bowling, and beer; yet Milwaukee is much more than all that. It's a lively city of festivals and parks, arts and entertainment. Decaying downtown areas are being rejuvenated, old neighborhoods are being restored, and new, smaller industries are replacing the large, outdated manufacturing plants that have closed or moved away. This is a short easy ride that barely touches on what Milwaukee has to offer yet still calls attention to some of the city's charms. Things to see: Lake Michigan, parkways, bike trail, and mansions.
