The Door County peninsula, jutting into Lake Michigan and forming Green Bay to the west, has long been one of Wisconsin's most popular tourist destinations. It's so popular that a bike ride might be best in spring or fall or at least midweek during summer; the hordes of visitors can make biking difficult on summer weekends. One nice thing about Door County in summer is that the lake breezes that blow across the peninsula provide a natural air conditioning, making steamy summer days bearable for bike riders.

Great ride with lots of water views. Not much traffic to contend with. Steep climb and switchback on Cottage Row going out of Fish Creek. Warning to allergy sufferers - goldenrod everywhere. We would very highly recommend this ride. And it's very easy to add loops to it for more mileage. Take a map with high detail of roads, not just general roads. The entire peninsula is a cyclist haven.
