Three-quarters of the way through this ride you'll be at the southern end of the town of Blue Mounds, just below Blue Mound State Park. Viewed from a distance, this bluish-gray mound is an impressive site. Close up, the sights seen from it are even more impressive. The park has 40-foot observation towers, but viewing at numerous ground-level locations is almost as nice. You can easily see the rolling hills of the Wisconsin River watershed, the distant hills of the Baraboo Range, and several other large mounds. Things to see: Small towns of Mount Horeb and Blue Mounds, Mustard Museum, Blue Mound State Park and Cave of the Mounds nearby, scenic valleys, rural countryside.
