Some of the prettiest country roads in Michigan are on this ride. If you don't like one stretch, just keep pedaling, and something different will soon appear around one of the many curves. The terrain varies from flat to rolling hills to flat again, offering variety every other mile or so. At the sides of the road, you'll find marshes, creeks, ponds, and lakes. There's also a lovely mixture of evergreens and deciduous trees. Two nice places for picnics or breaks are the Portage Lake Unit of the Waterloo Recreation Area, on the southwest side of Big Portage Lake, and the Jackson County Park, on the east side of the lake. Things to see: Portage Lake, Waterloo Recreation Area, Jackson County Park, wide range of scenery.

Beautiful scenery once you get about 3 miles out. Lots of windy roads and low hills. Can easily extend the ride by pedalling around Waterloo or taking side roads. Light traffic seemed bicycle friendly.

I had been riding my bike a lot when I bought this book and took this ride. It was the hardest bike ride I ever did (not saying I am an experienced). The rolling hills decription means that it is constant hills for 30 miles. I learned to drive the road trails first.
