This ride includes the best of both worlds: The first half travels a favorite route of Marquette cyclists, the second half a favorite of tourists and locals alike. Both present vast vistas of Lake Superior, Marquette landmarks, rolling hills (some steep), and lakeside parks. Ellwood A. Mattson Lower Harbor Park, the focal point and beginning of both the long and short rides, curves as it hugs the shore of Marquette Bay. It has a wonderful grassy area with picnic tables, a pavilion, drinking water, and restrooms. Things to see: Presque Isle Park, Ore Docks, Maritime Museum, lighthouse, Lake Superior coastline, Marquette County Courthouse.
