The High Point Cruise takes you on a 35.9-mile tour of southwestern Guilford and northeastern Davidson Counties, also slicing off a small tip of Randolph County. Because it links the towns of High Point and Thomasville, the route passes through a lot of residential areas as it skirts downtown High Point and passes through the heart of Jamestown and Thomasville. The terrain can be quite hilly in places, and some of the roads have quite a bit of traffic, so this route is recommended for more experienced cyclists. This route links the two Piedmont towns of High Point and Thomasville and offers a variety of scenery and neighborhoods in between. The ride starts in the heart of furniture country in High Point, which got its name by being the “high point” on the original survey for the old North Carolina Railroad.
