There are only two words for this trail: water bars. They’re big, they’re ugly, and there’s an entire army of them waiting along Long Branch Loop to test your suspension and your mettle.
Sometimes you can slalom around them, sometimes you can set up a rhythm and just start pogo-ing from one to the next. And sometimes you hit one wrong or blow the line, and your bike starts bucking like a bee-stung bronco. The views of Cedar Rock and John’s Rock are impressive, and the old McCall cemetery holds a sense of quiet respect for earlier times. Tread: 4.3 miles of prime singletrack; 3.7 miles of gravel road.
