A number of trails lace the land around the lake. The directions given here lay out two loops: The first is a beginner’s loop with a minimum of technical challenges, though it does contain some huge, skanky, horse-induced mudholes. The second loop offers a number of tricky rock gardens and stream crossings that can slap you down in a big way if you don’t play them right. An excellent pair of jumps bookend the grassy area just before the dam. For an interesting—if somewhat unsavory—wildlife experience, keep an eye out for the buzzard tower. The park offers several other really nice features. There are picnic facilities all over the place and a snack bar down by the beach. The bathhouses contain free showers and flush toilets. If you ask nicely at the office, they’ll let you use a hose to wash your bikes off. And for a measly $2, you can go swim in the lake and wash the dust from your weary bones. Tread: 11.3 miles of singletrack; 0.5 mile of grassy doubletrack; 0.1 mile of gravel doubletrack.

This was my first experience mountain biking. It was challenging and yet easy enough that there were no mishaps. The trail doubles as a horse trail but we only shared the trail with two horseback riders. We thourougly enjoyed it. There was camping and plenty of sights to see.

Very easy trail. Take the kids to this one. There a couple of nice jumps and some good fast runs. The park is really nice - swimming lake, camping, etc. It is a county park - $3 per car plus $2 per bike permit.
