This ride's general location is east of the city of Buena Vista and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Scenery includes lush greenery along Pedlar River and some mountain views from Shady Mountain Trail. This loop begins and ends at Pedlar River Campground on Forest Service 39, using primarily gravel forest roads. This loop is a shortened version of the Pedlar River Loop and eliminates the need to ford the Pedlar. Although it entails some healthy climbing, it ends with a seven-mile downhill that, for most of us, is a darn good tradeoff. Riders of most ability levels will have a good time.
