This ride's general location is 15 miles west of Harrisonburg. Scenery includes super views of neighboring peaks on the ascent of Sandspring Mountain. The three-mile climb up Forest Service Trail 423 is described as a "long pull." However, most of us would call it a hell of a climb and no piece of cake. Intermediate and better riders or novices with very good stamina should give this one a try, it will allow them to alternately test their climbing and downhill skills.
