The "plunge" referred to on this ride is one difficult descent with sharp curves found on Ox Creek Road. It's short, but very steep. The rest of the ride is characterized by rolling hills leading into moderate but sustained climbs. You'll ride along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, through rural farmland and valleys and past beautiful large older homes in residential areas. Much of the ride is shaded, which makes it a good choice on a hot day. Points of interest: Historic Grove Park Inn Resort; Blue Ridge Parkway (1 overlook); short side trip available to Vance Birthplace; Botanical Gardens of UNCA.
