The moderately difficult and extremely scenic loop is meant to illustrate to mountain bikers an obvious but often overlooked asset of he Blue Ridge Parkway. The Parkway, from Front Royal to Cherokee, is well suited for both bicycling tourists and day-cyclists alike. However, the smooth pavement and long, leisurely climbs may not appeal quite as much to the off-road rider. What many folks fail to realize is that along certain sections of the Parkway off-road cyclists can access hundreds of miles of both well maintained and abandoned forest roads, all of which are open to the public. Trail Surface: Forest roads and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
