There are five trails within York River State Park (nearly 15 miles worth) that are open to mountain biking, some of which share use with equestrians and hikers. The Laurel Glen Mountain Bike Trail and the Marle Ravine Mountain Bike Trail are the park’s two mountain bike specific trails, built and maintained by local volunteer mountain bikers. While Laurel Glen is meant to accommodate beginners to the sport along its relatively modest single and doubletrack trails, the Marle Ravine Mountain Bike Trail packs lots of hills, switchbacks, bridges, and jumps into its six miles of advanced singletrack. No matter what your skill level or riding interests are, it’s clear that York River State Park is THE place to be in Eastern Virginia for a great off-road riding experience.

The Marle Ravine is an absolute blast. The York River State Park does an outstanding job here, and this is the best riding in the Hampton Roads area. It is difficult, but you are rewarded with a lot of fun riding (drops, moguls, jumps). Make sure you wear a helmet and are a good technical rider, the trail is narrow and requires a lot of attention, especially around difficult turns after drops. This is a must ride for bikers in the area!

Great trail, a lot of fun. I would have to say one of the best in the Hampton Roads area.

This trail requires the wearing of a helmet, and for a good reason. It starts of like it's going to be simple than it all hits you at once with steep hill climbs, fast descents ,and quick switch backs. This is a awesome trail witch i would go back to all the time now
