My son and I started from the South Run Park entrance which is poorly marked. You can do the loop only by entering Burke Lake Park from Route 123.
The loop path is level and smooth. The Park facilities on the south side of the lake make for a nice recreational stop if you are riding with a teen or younger. The north side of the lake has wood exercise station stops which is unique in my trail travels. These stops are a must for joggers, but also relevant to bikers seeking to excercise and tone all parts of your body.
In my opinion, this trail would be best to ride when there is less than full foliage (autumn, winter, early spring) since the trees obstruct a view of the lake in many instances. RZ
