Seneca Creek State Park is conveniently located in northern Montgomery County. The network of trails in this park are challenging and well maintained and are certain to satisfy the most demanding mountain biker. Beautiful vistas of the lake and historical points of interest along the trails will keep you both interested and educated as you pedal along. Here’s a short but challenging ride around Seneca Creek State Park’s Clopper Lake, taking you along tricky singletrack trails, through undeveloped natural areas, across open fields, along the lake’s shores, and past evidence of times long ago. You’ll begin the ride following the Lake Shore Trail, which crosses old fields and skirts the lake’s shoreline. In the spring and summer, these fields are filled with colorful wildflowers that give way in the fall to thick, golden sage grass.
