You live in North Arlington and are looking for a short, fun ride you can fit into a busy schedule. Or you’d like to know an easy way across Chain Bridge so you can follow the C & O towpath into Georgetown for brunch, out to Great Falls for a picnic, or even to Bethesda via the Capital Crescent Trail. Or maybe you live on the Maryland side of the Potomac and would like to explore a little bit of Arlington. Here’s a convenient ride that loops around Arlington’s suburban highlands, perched high above the Potomac River in the county’s northern corner. It connects a few very ridable artery roads with a streamside bike path to form a simple 10-mile loop. NOTE THAT A PORTION OF THIS ROUTE FOLLOWS A BIKE PATH THAT HAS A DIRT SURFACE. THE ROUTE MAY BE HARD TO FIND OR IMPASSABLE AT TIMES, ESPECIALLY AFTER RAIN OR SNOW.
