The climb up Club Gap is very tiring, this is because of the high amount of baby heads. But what goes up must come down, and going down Avery Creek Trail is just fantastic, Pisgah single track at it's best. Be careful though, there are some very technical moves on Avery, that if misjudged could cause you and your bike a lot of serious damage ( as do most trails) but if you make it to the hard gravel road in one piece, you will definitely be buzzing, and wanting more. If you have left your vehicle at the Pink Beds, then you will have a pretty boring ride back on the gravel road. All in all the Avery Creek Trail is the only section of this loop worth doing, so I would suggest parking at the Horse Stables, and riding up the 477 to Club Gap, then Down Avery, this way you at least finish at your car, and on a high.
