This ride passes through a working rural landscape that actually comes closer to the realities of life in the contemporary South. Fields of soybean, corn, cotton, and winter wheat extend for miles, while modest houses dot the roadside.
Abandoned cars and rusted farm equipment keep company with wildflowers and brambles. The humidity is thick, and the myriad of insects drone on and on. On the final leg along the Natchez Trace Parkway be sure to watch for white-tailed deer and wild turkey. Terrain: flat to rolling.
