Only technically and physically demanding first 15 minutes after this it is just a nice smooth ride.
First part of the trail ascends from the Point Wolf River Valley, a beautiful crystal clear river that runs down a massive gorge on the NB south coast, and is quite a difficult climb for the first 1.5 km. After that, it joins an old access road or cart path that is used by mountain bikers as well, and is quite an easy walk. The trail traverses some beautiful hardwood stands and provides good cover for hikers, except in a few isolated spots where it opens up in a young softwood section. Saw many garter snakes sunbaking on the side of the path. The trail ends at Higway 114 and just across the road is Bennett Lake where you can stop for a refreshing swim or rent a canoe/kayak for 8 dollars per hour.
