Some of the trail was difficult for us to follow- we took the "unmarked trail." But we didn't ever stray too far from the actual trail. Beautiful views of Swim Lake and on towards the Cheakamus Bridge where two rivers collide and we sat awhile sunning ourselves on the riverbank rocks. The route we took, starting out towards Brandywine Falls and then up the unmarked trail was difficault at first and probably better designed for dayhikers but after the first 2 km, it became easier to ride. The trip out from the bridge was smooth sailing and we were glad to have saved it for the end. We went in August when it was pretty warm out and made sure to take our insect repellant. Still, there were lots of bugs buzzing around in the still forest. Great trail overall. We will go back when we are a little more experienced.
