The Malheur National Forest sits in the Blue Mountains of eastern Oregon and is currently home to the original Hines Railroad Grade. This old railbed serves dual purposes now.
It is incorporated into mountain biking trails in summer and into snowmobile, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing trails in winter. Its grade is mostly moderate, with occasional challenging sections. Enjoy views of Logan Valley and the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness.
