Things to Do at Atlantis, Bahamas

Things to Do at Atlantis, Bahamas
Atlantis is a resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. It offers three different hotels, beaches, retail shops, a water park, a place to swim with dolphins and many other activities. The resort covers most of the island and has plenty to keep visitors busy while on vacation.

Dolphin Cay

Swimming with the dolphins is easy to do at Atlantis. They have a location set up especially for that activity called Dolphin Cay. There, you can associate with the dolphins in deep or shallow water or even act as a dolphin trainer for a day. Other activities at Dolphin Cay include contact with sea lions and swimming with mantas and sharks. There is an age limit of 8 years old to participate.

Water Park

Enjoy a day at the water park on site. Here you will find waterslides as high as 60 feet and others that allow sliders to race alongside each other. There is even a slide that is more like a water roller coaster that drops you more than 50 feet and then pushes you up and through twists and turns. The water park also has two river rides that will take you and your inner tube either on a slow, lazy drift along a quarter mile stretch of water or a mile-long jungle ride with high waves and caves.

Diving and the Beach

Take time to go scuba diving, snorkeling or snuba diving. Diving and other water activities are offered off the coast and will take you underwater to explore the reefs and shipwrecks in the area.

Snuba diving is a way for those not old enough or not experienced enough for scuba diving to have the same experiences as scuba divers. It involves an air hose hooked to a mask that allows the diver to breath underwater without an air tank.

If water isn't your thing, you can always just relax on the sand and enjoy the sun, or build a sand castle with the kids.
