Palau Vacations With Children

Palau Vacations With Children
Palau, an island country in the Pacific, provides an action-packed vacation spot for all ages. Pick a resort that offers kid-friendly activities (think snorkeling, swimming and miniature golf), and from there, plan day trips the whole family will enjoy. From boating and hiking to viewing dolphins and jellyfish, you'll have more fun choices than you can fit into one vacation.

Palau Pacific Resort

The water is so warm and inviting that your family may not want to leave the private beach at the Palau Pacific Resort. But once you discover the other hotel amenities, you'll want to try them, too. Among the offerings, you'll find an infinity pool, large whirlpool, nature trail and fishpond with fauna such as stingrays and turtles.

In the hotel lobby, you can also sign up for tours the kids will love. These include speedboat, kayak or sailing trips; a visit to a dolphin center; and hiking among Palau's waterfalls.

Back at the resort, dining options range from formal to casual. You can introduce your children to afternoon tea, eat on an outdoor terrace, order snacks on the beach or stop by for an ice cream treat at Merekos Ice Hut.

Palau Royal Resort

The Palau Royal Resort is a premier hotel that rolls out the welcome mat for families. Kids and parents love the recreational options, including an outdoor pool, tennis court, miniature golf course, children's playroom and beach activities. The hotel is also happy to arrange outings for guests, from water sports to island tours.

The resort offers dining all day, with Chinese, Japanese and Western meals, plus plenty of snacks.

Dolphin Bay Resort

The Dolphin Bay Resort offers a lower-key kind of vacation than the large resorts, but it's equally fun for families. Dolphin Bay includes seven bungalows with private balconies, and a dive shop that offers scuba diving, snorkeling, sightseeing and fishing tours. The open-air restaurant serves international and local fare all day long.

Trips are available to Jellyfish Lake where you can mingle with harmless jellyfish; Dolphin Bay, which hopefully will afford a view of that wondrous mammal; and Anguar Island, which features colorful flowers, wild monkeys and historical sites from World War II--Palau was home to a famous battle.
