The Best Mexico Beaches in August

The Best Mexico Beaches in August
Mexico is home to beautiful mountains, quaint villages and dreamlike beaches. If you are visiting Mexico in August there are several beaches that you must visit. The beaches within this country can offer you tourist attractions, seclusion or an intimate encounter with nature itself. While August is when Mexico beaches have rough surf and are swarming with tourists, there are some beaches that will offer you seclusion. Prior to visiting any beach, check the weather in advance to ensure a beautiful day awaits you and your family.

Playa del Amor (Lover's Beach), Cabo San Lucas

Playa del Amor translates to "lover's beach" in English and with its hidden coves and isolated beaches, it is ideal for those who are searching for a day away from the hustle-and-bustle the tourist resort beaches offer. Lover's Beach is only accessible through a water taxi, which can be reserved at your resort. Inform the captain that you want to go to Lover's Beach and he will take you directly to the cove and will return at a pre-determined time you set. This beach is surrounded by white rocks that have been formed by sand and wind, thus giving a dramatic backdrop to the crystal blue waters. The surf in August will be rough, so only swim and snorkel on the Sea of Cortez side of the beach.

Location:
Playa del Amor is situated in Cabo San Lucas along the Sea of Cortez. If you are staying at any Cabo San Lucas resort, you will have access to this secluded beach.

Playa Norte (North Beach), Isla Mujeres

If you are vacationing in Cancun, then you are aware that the beaches within the resort zones are overcrowded and quite noisy. If you want to escape to a calmer beach experience, then Playa Norte, or North Beach, Isla Mujeres will be your favorite destination. This beach is much calmer than those that surround resorts, and is very easy to find. Simply drive or walk west until you reach the beach. While at the beach you are able to rent lounge chairs, umbrellas and water toys. Even though this beach is separated from the resorts, there are still beach services provided by the palapa bars and restaurants, which offer lounge-chair waiter service. This beach will keep you close to the action of Cancun, but far enough to enjoy true relaxation.

Location:
North Beach is located on the far west side of Isla Mujeres.

Playa Delfines, Cancun

For those who enjoy surfing, dolphins and breathtaking views, then the Playa Delfines in Cancun will be your ideal beach. This beach is located on the Caribbean coast, which offers crystal blue waters and during the month of August, the surf is quite strong. Surfers will enjoy this beach as the waves are strong enough to provide a challenge. This beach is located on Boulevard Kakulcan, which is easily accessible from any Cancun resort. The isolated feeling of this beach is ideal for the outdoor enthusiast because of its serene location and massive waves. If you plan on swimming, make sure to not venture out too far as you can easily be swept away into the ocean.

Location:
Playa Delfines is located on Boulevard Kukulcan at marker Kilometer 18.
