Attractions in Miami, Florida for Kids
While many view Miami as the up-all-night South Florida town, there are many opportunities for kids and parents to enjoy the wide expanses of beach, parks and museums that make this destination both fun and family friendly. Everglades National Park and many other sites to see tropical fish, alligators and much more provide a place for kids to actually see the things they read and hear about.

Miami Seaquarium

The Miami Seaquarium features more than 38 acres designed to highlight the wet wildlife Florida has to offer. In addition to daily shows featuring dolphins and killer whales, the Seaquarium offers an opportunity for kids to actually play and interact with dolphins at the "Dolphin Odyssey" program. Reservations are required for this special program; children must be at least 4-feet-4 to actually swim with the dolphins. Additional programs are offered for younger children (beginning with 5 and up).

Everglades National Park

In addition to kayaking, canoeing and bicycling, Everglades National Park offers several separate locations, such Shark Valley Visitor Center, where kids can enjoy ranger-guided programs to learn more about nature's great predators, or the Flamingo Visit Center, where there's always a flock of these brightly colored birds. Be sure to visit the park's website or give the visitor center a call before coming; Miami has wet and dry seasons that cause different programs to be offered throughout the year.
