Fun Things for Teens to Do in Orlando, Florida
Orlando is home to SeaWorld and Walt Disney World, attractions that are fun for guests of all ages. But for teens who would like to do something just a little different, Orlando has other choices. You can find exciting roller coasters outside Disney World, and a water park that caters to older teens allows for plenty of horseplay with Jet Skis and other personal water crafts. Teens can also enjoy a day at the park playing roller hockey, which is free.

Universal's Islands of Adventure

Teens who enjoy roller coasters and theme parks may want to plan a day at Universal's Islands of Adventure park. The "Incredible Hulk" coaster accelerates to 40 mph within two seconds, and the "Dueling Dragons" ride offers an inverted riding experience that brings riders very close to one another three times. With your arms and legs not strapped, your adrenaline is sure to surge.
This is a full-day adventure, and it is a good idea to bring some money to buy lunch, drinks and snacks. Wear a bathing suit underneath your shirt. The water attractions are designed to get you soaking wet. Hours of operation vary, depending on the season; the park is open daily.

Barber Park at Lake George

Orlando residents know Barber Park as a multiuse park for fishing, soccer, a dog park and picnic areas, but teens enjoy it because of its roller hockey rink. This facility is in use by leagues, but during their off times, you will notice a number of teens working on their roller hockey skills. Join the fun for a few hours.
The park is open year-round from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in summer, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in winter. A visit to the park is a good idea if you have just a couple of hours. Of course, you can make it a full day by bringing a soccer ball and some fishing gear.

Buena Vista Watersports

If you are at least 17 years of age and have a drivers license and credit card, you may rent personal watercraft---such as Jet Skis---at Buena Vista Watersports. Younger teens may enjoy waterskiing, wakeboarding, tubing and knee boarding at this private marina. Plan on doing some swimming and soaking in the rays. This is not a cheap undertaking---Jet Ski rentals start at $98 per hour---but it is well worth the expense.
