Chesapeake Bay

As the largest estuary in North America, the Chesapeake Bay region in Maryland spans 1,726 square miles and offers a wealth of game fish opportunities to all anglers. The variety of fish species to catch include rockfish, drum, bluefish, speckled trout, spot, flounder and croaker.

Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing Charters offers guided fishing trips on the bay. The type of species the charters fish for depends on the season. Rockfish, bluefish, black drum and croaker are pursued during the months of June and July, while species like rockfish, trout, flounder and spot are caught in October and November. All necessary fishing gear and equipment are provided. The charter also offers two- to eight-hour tours of the Chesapeake Bay, a sunset cruise or a lighthouse tour for additional fees.

Ocean City

Ocean City is an Atlantic Ocean resort destination in Worcester County. According to the Ocean City Maryland Convention and Visitors Bureau, the area is also called the White Marlin Capital of the World. Fish species include bigeye and yellowfin tuna, bluefish, wahoo, mako, mahi-mahi, white and blue marlin, flounder, trout and sea bass.

The Wave Dancer Charters operate from Sunset Marina in Ocean City from June to November. Choose a full-day or half-day guided trip out in the ocean. The charter also offers specialized trips for in-shore bottom fishing and in-shore trolling. All necessary fishing gear and equipment are provided, including bait, tackle, cooler, ice and fishing license.

Solomons Island

Solomons Island is a waterfront fishing village in Calvert County, Southern Maryland, where the Patuxent River converges with the Chesapeake Bay. Fish species to catch in the area include trout, croaker, flounder, striper and spot.

Fishing C's Charter offers bottom fishing trips in Solomons Island. Fishing C's can take anglers on a guided trip in the surrounding areas of Solomons Island as well as the Potomac River, Patuxent River and the west side of the Chesapeake Bay. This guided charter trip can accommodate up to six anglers for either a six-hour or eight-hour fishing trip. All fishing gear and equipment, such as rods, reels, bait, safety gear, tackle and ice, are included.
