Sierra National Forest Campgrounds

Oakhurst is abutted to the northeast and west by the Sierra National Forest. Within the Sierra are more than 20 different campgrounds with sites for tents and RVs. Most of the campgrounds are primitive, meaning you need to have your own water containment systems as there are no sewer or water connections. Pit or vault toilets are available at each campground, as are freshwater spigots.

Check for posted rules regarding generator use and quiet hours, as well as current rules regarding open fires in the grills and fire rings. Pets are allowed in the national forest and the campgrounds but should be leashed while in the camping areas. Benefits of camping at the forest campgrounds are hiking trails, canoeing and kayaking within the campgrounds.
