RV Campgrounds in Sallisaw, Oklahoma
Sallisaw is an Oklahoma city in Sequoyah County. The area possesses rich historical ties with the Cherokee Nation-Indian culture. The city owes its name to the French word "salaiseau," which means salt provisions. Salt deposits along Sallisaw's streams furnished salt used by the early settlers to preserve meat. Currently the area's streams and other waterways are better known for the many water activities they provide campers, including boating, swimming and fishing.
