Panama City Bass Fishing Clubs

Panama City Bass Fishing Clubs
Panama City is located in northwest Florida and has numerous opportunities for bass fishing. The city and the surrounding area are represented by several bass fishing clubs. Some of the clubs are limited to tournament anglers, and others include recreational anglers. The recreational clubs will participate in tournaments but also offer gatherings and instruction for beginning anglers.

Panama City Bassmasters

The Panama City Bassmasters is a club for beginning and experienced anglers. The club has a monthly meeting and a monthly fishing tournament. The tournament is catch and release, and there is point system for participating members. At the end of each year, the points are counted, and members receive awards in several different categories. Club members share techniques and are willing to teach beginners. The main mission of the club is to promote the sport without limiting membership to experienced tournament fisherman. This is the oldest and most established club in Panama City. The club does require a small annual membership fee and a small fee for each tournament.

The Hub City Bassmasters is based in Crestview, Florida, less than 100 miles from Panama City. Although the club is about 1 hour away, it serves a large area that overlaps with the Panama City area. The club also fishes many of the same waters as the Panama City club. Most of the members are boat owners, and the club only allows 25 percent of the members to be without a boat. An annual membership fee is required, and members have a monthly meeting and tournament. The tournaments are held at different lakes, and the club competes in the regional and state tournament.
