The campgrounds are part of Darien Lake's 360 developed acres. As of 2009, the campgrounds are made up of 1,500 separate camping sites in either open or forested areas. The campgrounds are organized into two tiers according to their proximity to the theme park's entrance. Families that want to be close to all of the park's attractions can choose a Tier I campground, while those who want a more secluded, quiet camping experience can choose a Tier 2 campground.
Your camping fees include overnight privileges in the park, as well as unlimited entrance and access to all of Darien Lake's attractions, including its waterpark. All 1,500 campground sites have hook-ups to the park's electric and water lines. Unfortunately, some sites share the same utility pole, and you may need an extension cord and a water hose to reach your site's nearest hook-up. Bathrooms can be found throughout the park. In addition, Darien Square is found on the edge of the campgrounds and has a laundromat, a restaurant, a general goods store and showers.
Recreational Vehicle Rentals
Those who don't want to camp in tents can rent one of the park's recreational vehicles. Each RV includes a bathroom, a queen- or full-sized bed, and two bunk beds. Additional features include a heater and air conditioning, a full kitchen and a full bathroom. Outside of each RV lot, campers will find their own private picnic table and a fire pit.
Reservations and Costs
Campers can book their camp site by calling the park's reservation line at (585) 599-2211 or by booking online through their Internet reservation system (see Resources). As of September 2009, Tier 1 camping sites start at $84 per night while Tier 2 sites start at $74. Those who wish to stay in an RV rental can rent one starting at $169 per night. Campers can check into their camping site at 2 p.m. and must check out by 1 p.m. on the day that their reservation ends. Meanwhile, RV renters can check in at 3 p.m. and must check out at 11 a.m. on the day their reservation ends.
Individuals can bring pets with them when renting an RV or pitching a tent on a camp site at Darien Lake. However, pets must remain on a leash at all times. In addition, the pet's human companion must present a vaccination record upon check-in that shows the pet to be in compliance with all current New York vaccination requirements. If you are unsure if your pet is compliant, consult your veterinarian.
