The greater Toronto area is the most populous region in all of Canada, with more than 5.9 million residents. The lakefront Sand Lake Cottages and Inn is nestled among lush pine trees and close to several area attractions such as Algonquin Park, Hidden Valley Ski Resort and the Seguin Recreation Trail. Guests can enjoy everything from ice fishing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling in the winter to horseback riding, rafting and trout fishing in warmer months. Property amenities include a shallow sand beach, communal hot tub, water trampoline, tree fort and playground for kids, complimentary pedal-boats, canoes, campfire wood and plenty of free parking. There is also access to several ATV trails on the property. Three- and four-bedroom cottages are all spacious and clean, featuring fully equipped kitchens, dining area, satellite TV and VCR/DVD player with movies, as well as patios with outdoor furniture and propane BBQ grills. Linens and toiletries are not provided. In addition, dogs must be leashed at all times.

West Nipissing Resort

The waterfront West Nipissing Resort is situated just 15 minutes southwest of Sturgeon Falls and targets budget-conscious travelers who wish to enjoy a vacation close to nature. Outdoor enthusiasts can fish for bass and northern pike, hit the local ATV trails, play golf or take a casual cruise on a rented pontoon boat. The resort also puts on various activities for its guests, ranging from bonfire nights to horseshoe tournaments to paddleboat races. Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, free parking, picnic tables and several boat docks. There are 12 tastefully decorated cottages with anywhere from one to four bedrooms, each featuring private bath, electric heat, full kitchen with cookware and eating utensils, and a deck with a BBQ grill. Guests must bring their own TV and DVD player, towels and toiletries. Also, pets are permitted for an additional fee, but are not allowed inside the pool area.

Ogopogo Resort

The family-style cottages at Ogopogo Resort along Mountain Lake in the Haliburton Highlands provide convenient access to local points of interest like Algonquin Park, Twin Lakes Ski Trails and the Minden Hills Museum. Property amenities include a sandy beach, private garden with gazebo, in-ground heated swimming pool, children's play area, and personal health spa services. Use of canoes, kayaks and paddleboats are complimentary. Two and three bedroom cottages feature a large full-sized kitchen, six-person dining table, cable TV, outdoor deck and comfortably furnished living room. Some cottages also have a fireplace and Jacuzzi tub. Vacationers have a near endless array of activities at their disposal, from waterskiing, mountain biking, fishing and kayaking in the summer to cross-country skiing, ice skating and dog sledding in the winter. In addition, there are five golf courses less than 15 minutes away and a recreational ice luge nearby.
