Red Fish Fishing in Orange Beach, AL
Orange Beach, Alabama is on the Gulf of Mexico and offers a range of fishing opportunities. Anglers can try their luck pursuing many species, including "red fish." Red fish are members of the drum fish family, which includes croaker, sea trout, sea bass and weakfish. Trolling is a popular technique used for red fish. There are several charters that offer red fish trips into Gulf waters in and around Orange Beach.
 

Getaway Charters

Getaway Charters offers trips that specifically target red fish. Between mid-October and late March the bull red fish hit offshore. Charters are four, five or six hours long. All fishing gear, tackle and bait are provided, as well as boat service, a captain and a guide. Be prepared for choppy seas and bring motion sickness medications, if needed. Also bring a sun hat, sunglasses, long-sleeve shirt, camera and any food or drinks you may want. Getaway Charters departs from Orange Beach harbors. You may see wild dolphins on your trip.

Distraction Charters

Distraction Charters operates out of Orange Beach and offers day, half-day or custom charters for red fish. Charters include fishing gear, tackle, bait, captain, crew, guide and a cabin to escape the sun and heat. Distraction Charters will not go out in choppy or rough seas. Fish cleaning and bagging is provided in the charter fee. Bring your own sun protection (hat, glasses, long-sleeve shirt) and wear soft-soled shoes. Bring your own lunch and drinks. A camera is recommended. Watch for pelicans, dolphins and other marine life.
