Mexico fishing is as varied as its people, food and cultures. There are opportunities to go deep-sea fishing on the Baja Peninsula or the Gulf Coast waters. Bass anglers can fish lakes, rivers and estuaries for the species. There are charter operators and fishing guides in Mexico who offer trips for bass. All anglers will need Mexican fishing licenses and a valid passport if coming from the United States.

Las Palmas 2000

Las Palmas 2000 offers multiday, all-inclusive bass fishing trips form its lodge on Lake Guerrero. Packages include guides, use of fishing tackle, gear and bait, fish cleaning, lodging, meals and beer, margaritas, soft drinks and bottled water at the lodge. Bass fishing is best between January and March. Round-trip ground transportation is included from Harlingen, Texas. The guides at the lodge have at least 15 years of experience fishing the lake. Bring your camera, clothing and any toiletries you may need during your trip. The lodge can assist with a Mexican fishing license, if necessary.

Lake El Salto Fishing Charters operates bass fishing trips in the Mazatlan area. Charters include guides, fishing gear, tackle, bait, boat service, iced coolers and an open bar with beer, soda, margaritas and bottled water. Packages include lodging, meals, transportation from the Mazatlan airport, open bar and multidays of bass fishing. Topbaits, spinning baits, buzzbaits and poppers are used when fishing for bass on El Salto Lake. Bring a camera and try spotting the many species of tropical birds in the area.

Bass Fishing Mexico is an Amarillo, Texas-based travel company that specializes in fishing trips to Mexico, including bass fishing packages. Trips can be lodge-based or from a three-tier yacht. Fishing trips include meals, lodging, drinks, fishing guides, use of fishing gear, bait and iced coolers. Fish cleaning is included. A variety of locations can be arranged through the travel company. Ground transportation is included in package fees. Be prepared for hot temperatures and lots of sun. Bring sun hats, sunglasses (preferably polarized), sunscreen and long-sleeve shirts. A camera is recommended.
