Towne Lake

Towne Lake is a purpose built recreation lake located in Cypress. Numerous waterfront attractions include hiking trails, tennis courts, a clubhouse and kayaks for hire. Within the clubhouse is a state of the art fitness center and also a function room that is available to hire for your next event. The lake itself is host to an abundance of activities including canoeing, water skiing and boating whilst the acres of parkland that surround the lake are ideal for picnics, family days out and biking. Centrally located in Cypress, Towne Lake is an all purpose recreation center with good facilities.

Lake Somerville

Just 11 miles from Cypress is Lake Somerville. Home to a marina and camping grounds, the lake offers great fishing and boating opportunities. Suitable for an overnight stay, Lake Somerville has a number of rustic cabins available to rent as well as a site for RV and tents. At the marina there are jet skis, canoes and boats for hire and a fully stocked store with general camping supplies, groceries and also fishing tackle and licenses. Throughout the year a host of events are held at the lake such as fishing weekends for kids and Easter weekend celebrations making Lake Somerville an ideal place for family trips.

Lake Conroe

About 40 minutes drive from Cypress is Lake Conroe, a man-made body of water that stretches for 21 miles. A number of amenities and attractions make a trip to the lake a memorable event and it is worth considering staying overnight or for a few days at one of the many types of accommodation on offer. These include camping and RV sites and for those who prefer a little more comfort, there are a number of cabins and guest houses available to rent in the area as well. Amongst the activities available on the water are sailing, kayaking and bass fishing whilst for those who prefer dry land, there are several golf courses located around the lake offering well manicured greens and championship quality fairways. As well as the abundance of sports facilities there are numerous hiking and mountain trails amongst the trees of the Sam Houston National Forest which surrounds about a quarter of the lake.
