Liberty County Recreation Department

Sign your child up for one of the many activities offered by the Liberty County Recreation Department. Fort Stewart Museum

Fort Stewart is adjacent to Hinesville and is the largest Army base east of the Mississippi River. Taking your children to the Fort Stewart Museum gives them a chance to see an active military base and to learn about the area. The museum contains memorabilia and photographs of the base's history from its beginnings in 1940 to the present. Open Tuesday through Saturday, personal and group tours can be arranged by contacting the museum curator.

Hinesville Area Arts Council

The Hinesville Area Arts Council offers classes for children on the fourth Saturday of each month. Classes are held at the YMCA in Hinesville and last for one and a quarter hours. Children from ages two to twelve are welcome to participate. The Arts Council also sponsors musical events, plays and exhibits throughout the year, offering wonderful opportunities to expose your children to cultural activities.

YMCA of Coastal Georgia

YMCA of Coastal Georgia offers a large number of youth activities. Consider dropping your kids off at the Y for an evening of dinner, swimming and games for the Parents Night Out event. Held on the first Friday of every month and the fourth Saturday of the month, you can enjoy a nice evening alone knowing your kids are in a safe environment. The YMCA also offers a number of sports leagues and lessons throughout the year such as soccer, football and gymnastics.
